This past weekend Golfers Gone Wild Tour took a detour. We were originally scheduled to get together at Green Garden Gold Course, but due to travel, work and other time committments GGW could not muster six golfers for a quorum on Saturday.
However, on Sunday, April 15, an impromptu tee time was scheduled at Cog Hill and seven golfers showed up to compete. After the score cards were counted, Way Cool Conquered Cog Hill. Wayne continuing his early season success, led the way with a 95 net 72.Way Cool was the only golfer at net par.
Second place was secured by Silent Assassin who finished a stroke behind with 92 net 73. Sam also hit a key par on #8 and earned 7 skins. Cadillac Blue, fresh from the Augusta National, made his GGW season debut and captured third place with a net 77, while picking up 4 skins.
Quick Draw also making his first event of 2012, was a bit rusty (101) and was "playing for skins" early. Sure enough, Perry won 5. Lucky Lefty won the other two skins.
Lefty also earned GGW points with a fifth place showing. Rifleman came in fourth and racked up points for the second straight week. Also, for the second straight week, the best we can report on TaylorMade Kid is that he finished all 18 holes.
Given these two events, New Rules will be issued by the Commissioner to cover fairness, notice and options for future impromtpu rounds. But this one counts, we competed and Way Cool Conquered Cog Hill and takes over as GGW Points Leader going into this week's event scheduled for Glenwoodie..
