The Hawk soars at Tuckaway
The drive to Tuckaway is a nice scenic excursion down Route 394 and the veering left passing the home that Micheal Jordan purchased as a rookie. Tuckaway is a pleasant course with fast postage stamp greens, and bending fairways. Once there, GGW practiced and prepared for an event the Hawk preyed upon.
Shooting a net 72.4 Hawk devoured the course winning by a margin of almost three full strokes and 4 skins. This is Hawks initial voyage into the winner's circle and look forward to many more as that handicap continues to drop. Steady Eddy continues his strong 2012 season and now has a death grip on the GGW points lead finished second with net score of 75.2 and six skins. Night Train who is always a threat: shot a (subpar for him) 76.4 to garner third place.
Lucky Lefty, Prime Time and the charismatic Rifleman rounded out the top six with Lucky Lefty snatching 3 skins. Way Cool after a dominating previous week cooled off shooting a net 83.1. Country Strong who earlier this year promised to walk away with all GGW awards, points and plaques have yet to fulfill that promise. Another perennial champion contender, Bigg Dogg will soon demonstrate the all around game that has already put awards on his mantel and money in his wallet.
Medicine Man made a cameo appearance on Saturday and Sunday and we will see if his consecutive rounds played streak will continue past two. Double D and Hawk have had huge money winnings and they laugh together back on the ride home as how easy it is is to fleece the unsuspecting GGW. If Grade A doesn't place he always sneaks in a long hitting birdie or two for a skin here or there. Mr. Benny is beginning to round into form and it is only a matter of time before he places. We look forward to having the Silent Assassin return from his bowling bonanza, Quick Draw from his leadership responsibilities and the Gambler from his storage wars. We are going to send out the dog Mutt to find Kappatain Styles and force TaylorMade Kid to be at home by 9:00pm on Friday nights as all kids should be.
Next week, the Editor, statistician, and all around nice guy Caddillac Blue will have perfected his purchase of a Lexus car lot and return to write a more interesting articles. I'm out.
